Payasyougo Handset with IMEI number in receipt

I sounds crazy, but I need to buy a payasyougo/simfree handset (looking at the budget range of smartphones) which will come with the Imei number of the handset on the receipt. I signed up with Lifestylegroup mobile insurance and in order to make any claims they require a receipt/dispatch note which has the imei number written on it. I bought a sanfrancisco from orange hoping that their invoice/dispatch note would have it(argos don't mention imei) but it turns out they don't mention it. After several attempts with their useless customer service I have decided to return the handset, and buy from somewhere else.

Btw, how does everyone else claim on these insurance if the companies cannot trust their customers?
