  • id do all teh work myself, dont tell her anything and go in early before eth class and explain to teh tutor that due to a personality clash you couldnt work together but youve each prepared something individually then watch her face as she has to explain shes got nowt! ive had people like thi sin teh past, makes me so angry, make sure you dont take the fall for it, make sure that if its all only your work only you get a grade and that your tutor knows all about it.

Thing is we'd already done the presentation, she covered one period and I covered another so it didint really matter.. what it matters for is the follow up work which is due in on friday and since we agreed to share the research mine is incomplete... but she finally sent it thru today soo... bit of a rush but I'll be ok :)

  • Group work is the pits, isn't it? I have a similar problem whereby one person in our group of five has made NO effort whatsoever and will get the same grade as the rest of us. Very annoying as it means that my average grade will be pulled down because of it. Having read this thread I am going to send an email to my tutor, right now, to complain about the situation.

Talk to your tutor, don't worry about reporting her lack of commitment and effort in the project. Its her own fault, and she has no right to be angry with you. She can hardly go around painting you in a bad light to your fellow peers, I sure as hell wouldn't want someone in my group freeriding on my efforts. Neither does anyone else. Give the silly b*tch what she deserves. That's a failing mark!
  • Tutors can be just as bad. My History tutor has just told us she is leaving and may not be back... there is no replacement tutor yet.

I sent my draft essay to my Psychology tutor for her to look over and offer feedback before I offically hand it in. Went to see her today, to see if she had looked at it, and whether she could offer any guidance. Lo and behold, she mixed me up with someone else, and was telling me about someone elses essay. I just kinda got up and walked out in dispair.
  • THis happened to me last year - I was working with 2 gitls who were best mates.

As part of the subject we had to do a site visit to various places around Dudley and these two got bored and just vanished - never mind the tutor was expecting them back at the coach!!!!

I did the whole of part one on my own without any input whatsoever and asked the tutors if I could carry on like this but they refused and said I had to allow them some leeway!!! So I kept meticulous records of all meetings missed, all texts, phone calls and emails unreturned and unanswered. The lecturer/tutor agreed if this carried on then i would be marked individually. I finished the whole 5000 word project on my own and then I handed it in a day early. (My cunning plan - been there - worn the T-Shirt - lol)

The hand in date arrives and I get contacted by the girls, asking what they can do to have some input and there was a stunned silence when I told them it was too late, it was handed in and all records have been sent to the Head of Yer and tutors have informed me it is an individual mark now. Then they started cursing and swearing at me down the phone, threatening me etc etc. Oh dear - I forgot to tell them until they'd wound down that my phone records calls:rotfl:

They are now doing their 2nd year all over again having been held back and discilplined:D

You came half an hour late, and didn't respond to her message. Hmmm....
