I cant help in your area but I used to do data entry work from home. I got into it because I already knew someone doing it, the company was called Data Image Ltd. It was a small company run by a husband and wife team and they dont appear to have a website, so you might try the yellow pages. I used to get paid per key depression, I used to do 5 hours a day then dropped down to 3 hours a day. They delivered the work in the morning and collected it the next day.

  • That sounds exactly like the job i am looking for.. did you get paid well?
Would they take me on? Are they still in business? Are there any other companies in the south east like this?

    Kind regards

I've no idea if they have workers in other areas, I wouldnt have thought so but it might be worth giving them a ring. Pay wasnt excellent, it was a second income for us as I had a young baby, 5 hours was fine as she slept a lot but as she got older I had to drop down to 3 hours. All I had to do was a keyboard test to make sure I could type fast enough.

Pm me and I can give you their phone number if you want it, it might lead you to a company in your area at least.

I trained as an accounting technician (glorified book-keeper although it took 3 years) to start working in an office instead of a factory, so I could eventually become self-employed.

I now work pt in an office 4 mornings but I also do 2 self-employed book-keeping jobs at home. Just a matter of collecting and taking back the work and updating their computer. Well not just a matter of, you need the right software etc.

Not an instant way to find work but it might pay you to train in Sage or payroll or book-keeping (check your local college) then see if you can get any work that way. My initial book-keeping course was only 2 hrs a week for 12 weeks.

  • It does sound good, having the freedom to work at home. however, i need this job ASAP! So i fear it is too much of a long winded job oppotunity. I really want to do data entry at home i just find it hard to find legitimate ones!

    Kind regards,

    any other suggestions?
