Minimum time before PAC given?

Hi,

My contract has ended with vodafone, i've found another good deal through dial a phone but also on a vodafone tariff. I need to port my number from vodafone to a different PAYG provider to be able to port it back again.

Is there a mimimum time I have to have the number with the PAYG before they will generate a PAC for me?

The Orange rep said on here a while ago that you could port into Orange in the morning and ask fro your pac in the afternoon!!

Even if they ask, just say you've found you've no signal. Job done, they have to give it to you if you want it.

Have you tried calling Vodafone and asking if you can transfer your number from one contract to another? Not sure if it's possible, but might be worth giving them a call first.

As soon as you receive your dial a phone contract, if you call the Porting Team on 08080 945 945, Option 3, you should be able to get your Vodafone number transferred onto your new dial a phone contract.

I would always allow 24-48 hours to make sure all the porting files have completed
