Got my Hi Life Diner Card today in post. Can't wait to use it and hoping to do so tomorrow, but can't get my account to activate - does this need to be done before I can use the card?? Also said on letter with card full details of participating restaurants refer to your membership directory - where do I get this? Thanks for anyone who can help

Rang Hi Life - if you receive your membership over the weekend you cannot activate your membership until Monday when they update their database and if you got your membership with Tesco Vouchers it is a web based membership and you do not receive a directory, but you can purchase one for £5.00. Cheers

Has anyone tried The Chubby Cherrub (that is 'almost' correct) opposite AM:PM in town ? I notice it is on Hi-Life and looks decent. Hope to try another couple of places after payday :)

Exactly the same online as in book, if anything once you register online its better as it gives review ratings....enjoy!

I bought my card with Tesco vouchers. Emailed them afterwards about a directory and they sent me out for free.

Tried fat cat bistro in Ballyholme, 2 courses each for £10, super meal and not marked, will be back and would definatly recommend
  • I am pretty disappointed in the hilife... sent off my £10 vouchers and never got my card. Contacted them three weeks later and seems like card got 'lost' They sent another card with a book for Irish restaurants... we live in Scotland!

First time we used the card it was refused, as the restaurant no longer participated with hi-life!!!

Second time we used it in another favourite place it got stamped and we cant visit this restaurant again with the card!

The reason we spent the vouchers on this card was that we could use this in our two favourite restaurants - so pretty much worthless now!

Pity they dont advertise this on their website that in most restaurants you can only use the card once... whats the point in that!

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Yeah I can understand why some folk might feel misled at times by HiLife (the advertising blurb says "Can we use it at any time? Yes definitely* *certain restrictions may apply)
But used correctly and with preplanning (esp on mobile app) you can save loads. I have. :money:

Last used for lunch at Cafe Kina in Holywood. Top nosh!

i found only being able to use it once some places annoying aswell, but acually considering it was only £10 it has more than paid for it's self (even at £30 if i was using it as days out vouchers it's more than double paid for it's self) so i try to look at it that way. Maybe you could use it as an excuse to try other resturants :)

i'm using mines during the week at tony roma's we know they'll stamp it but we're due to renew ours soon anyway.
