Not sure where you read that having kittens improves their temperament, that's pretty much total rubbish, as other people have indicated. I hope you stick with your decision to have her spayed - it will prevent tom cats hanging around constantly and spraying outside your hourse, and also as with any birth, there can be complications, potentially large vet bills, etc.
There are, again as others have said, rescue centres full of unwanted cats and kittens. If you know of 10 people who are willing to take kittens from you, direct them to your nearest rescue. If they genuinely want a kitten they will pay the rescue fee and accept a rescue one who really needs a home. If not... do they really want a kitten, or is it just a whim, and might you end up with those kittens back?
Sorry to be blunt, but we have such a problem in this country with well-meaning people who think that breeding their animals at home is a good thing to do.... hence why so many over-run rescue centres and unwanted animals.0 -
Can I also add that even if your cat had kittens , the litter could well have more than one father.
I think you have made the right decision having her spayed.0 -

Its quite an old fashioned view, but some people do pass it around same with dogs. As you and others say it rubbish. Gla to hear the op is going to do the right thing.0 -
Having her speyed is the best thing for her.
However it might not solve all her problems- Obviously she is no-longer a mate for this other cat, but it might be worth considering if she is stressed by the whole situation - yes I know this sounds wierd follow this link to do a cat stress test and to find out more!- feliway.com/gb/Measure-your-cat-stress-risk-level.
Do you know the owner of the other cat? is he neutured?- He should be to reduce his aggression!
He still might and most proberly come in the garden as unneutered toms are very teritorial! If you have any probs-just ask- I too am a vet nurse with over 12 years experience with over 5 years specifically dealing solely with client education -mainly behaviour!0
