help my cat is being stalked

i have a female cat she is 15 months old, not been done so can have kittens, i want her to have a litter as i read that this can make female cats better in temprement (maybe wrong i do not know)

i have 10 people lined up for kittens when it happens so no worries there

there is a local cat who is very nasty he seems to bully alot of the other cats

i am sure that tilly is getting ready or is already on heat but this cat is stalking her she is obviously afraid of him he is very big, he has spayed my front and back doors and sits on my window cill making this awfull noise

i have been out so many times to shoo him away but he keeps coming back and this noise is really really awful:(

any advice please

Letting a female cat have kittens won't change her, mentally or physically.
She'll be miserable on heat if she doesnt get 'serviced'.

Have you read up on the health implications of a difficult pregnancy? Can you afford to pay for your cat to undergo a caesarean if things go wrong?
and pay for medication for urinary and mammary gland infections?

    Read this:

    http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=1+1364&aid=925

There's thousands of cats in rescue centres, point the people you have lined up for your cats kittens in a rescue centres direction and get her spayed.

Male cats will keep coming to your house until she is out of heat im afraid. Theres nothing you can do about that if you insist on not spaying her.
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire
  • thanks pickle never thought about it like that and you are right, so where do i go from here, i have just blocked the cat flap up an brought the litter tray back out

does the fact that said cat is sat on the window again and making noise's mean she is on heat and not done the deed?

    How is your cat acting?

She will go in and out of heat every 14 and 21 days until she has done the deed.
Are you wanting her spayed now? A vet will probably only spay a cat out of heat so getting the timing right is gonna be tricky!

Most vets will spey when cats are in heat, it is impossible to determine if they are or not for sure.

Vets will also spey if in early stage of pregnancy so get her booked in asap. It is the best thing for the cat and any responsible pet owner would get their cat neutered.

If you need any help/advice let me know (im a vet nurse) :)

I think you have made the right decision in getting her spayed without further delay.
Unfortunately for female cats the mating process is more of a gang bang than a loving relationship! She may be acting shy now, but once her hormones get in to full swing she may wander off in search of mates, and a hormonal cat will often wander far, and will be less cautious about traffic and other dangers. Mating with any old Tom cat would leave her at risk of picking up FIV etc which could be fatal.

I decided to have my cat spayed and not to have a litter of kittens as i felt i didn't have the time or the money to cope with it all.
My cat is 10 now.... she is a fantastic cat, loving, playful and loyal..
  • It improves their temper enormously not to be thinking about boy cats all the time. So spaying will improve her mood far more than a litter of kittens will, without the associated risks of mating.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
