There is plenty of oil it replenishes itself a never ending supply...

When the big powerful boys own the oil fields they can set any price they like, they lie to you about peak oil and charge you £1.30 at the pumps haha

It's only worth at most 30p a litre after production and tax

If that was true Ash, Saudi Arabia wouldn't be pumping millions of galleons of seawater into their oil fields to extract every last drop of oil. The Western oil companies wouldn't be putting their employees' lives at risk by operating in war torn parts of Africa and the deep ocean. No-one would be bothering going to the enormous expense and effort to turn tar sands into oil....

It's all part of the show :)
There are 00's of un tapped oil fields all around America and Alaska not allowed to be drilled.
    It's complete madness

It's the same as me owning all the cows and restricting the supply of milk pretending the cows are having a difficult time breeding and producing milk due to global warming.
    £4 a pint please....

its an interesting subject, abiotic oil, just google it. the idea that oil is formed deep down by chemistry and seeps up through fissures, large fields over time are then cut off from the supply as techtonic plates move, forming a reservoir that will deplete. they drilled down a few miles below the gulf and found oil, how did a bunch of dead trees get down there? The russians apparently believe it and are doing that ultradeep drilling around the caspian and other areas and have for many years

so the US government control OPEC too... i think not, they hold 80% of the world's oil reserves and 45% of the worlds current production...

not even Obama doing a Jedi mind trick could manipulate OPEC

Ash I'm surprised at you, your articles of doom are generally right up my street. But your optimism here is misplaced.
Have owned outright since Sept 2009, however I'm of the firm belief that high prices are a cancer on society, they have sucked money out of the economy, handing it to banks who've squandered it.

It's been diminishing since the peak of production was hit in 1999, from 3 million barrel/day to about 1.5 million/day today. The UK is already a net oil importer and net gas importer.

Production of oil and gas is currently declining at an annual rate of 20%.
