In 2009 we (5 adults, 2 children) flew from Dublin to Brussels Charleroi for a day trip. We left in the morning, came back in the evening.

We hired a 7 seater car for the 10 hours we were there and, in that time, drove through Belgium, Holland and Germany, stopping for a bite to eat in each country, photo taking, shopping and more.

The flights came to 14 cents for all of us, all in. It was a great day out.

    I'm still the winner :j
  • I know it might be a little bit off topic but let's try anyway:

    1) I applied for a Ryanair Credit Card some time ago via a cashback website - did not get the card possibly due to a poor credit history - but got 13 pounds cashback.

    2) My daughter's pushchair got damaged during a flight with Ryanair. I had no receipts for the purchase so Ryanair calculated a cargo value and reimbursed me about 20 pounds more than what I had paid for the buggy.
  • Got flights for my Mum and Dad from East Midlands to Knock for a total cost of 4p last year. About 3 years ago, myself and Mrs Baker got flights from EMA to Berlin for the same price. Also had many £3/£5/£10 all in flights from EMA to Dublin and Knock.

Had a day trip from Bournemouth to Edinburgh for £2.00 return, which was very good value and meant a day trip was possible, but my biggest bargin was 3 adults to Dublin for 2p return each! Even better we stayed with friends for 4 nights in Dublin, so flights and accomadation only cost 6p for the 3 of us!

14 pence for a family of 7 in feb 2010 accomodation right by trevi fountain cost us £400 thought we did not mind for a couple of nights. Do you think they might do cheap flights again?

I could list a load of cheap trips like those above (although I don't recall ever managing to grab one of the penny flights), but on a slightly different tack I am able to fly to Dublin and back at convenient times for £50 or less, sometimes with Ryanair, sometimes with Aer Lingus. Thing is, it used to be £200+ before Ryanair started flying between Birmingham and Dublin. I count this as a Ryanair success, even when I'm sat on an Aer Lingus plane.

How the heck do you get to Alicante on the cheap(er)? Perhaps its because I need to fly from London instead. But I cannot get even term time flights at a cost I can afford!
