thanks to this site am a recent convert to epicare, would def recommend giving one a go
I wrote a thread ages ago on this subject and a few people were saying epicare was great but then loads of negative posts and i didn't want to buy one on another whim, is yours the official one or a cheaper version?
Is it really painful? as i have tried epilating my top lip and it hurts way too much and i get a nasty rash/spots same as i do with waxing.
Sorry about the twenty questions but i really need to get rid of my tash but moneys tight x0 -
I've found epilators leave me with really bad in-growing hair, waxing and lasers did nothing for me. Considering getting Vaniqa from the doctors but relying on razors for the moment. My hair is thick and very dark, so shows under makeup and looks worse closer to my period for some reason!
Facial hair growth is common in African/Asian women and made worse by PCOS so may be worth getting it checked & treated if it is the root cause.0 -
Well I was lucky enough (thanks to MSE) to get a free epilator after testing it for a company. But I thought that was just like shaving?
I was diagnozed with cancer a few years ago, whilst I didn't mind having no hair I did mind when it grew back & I grew facial hair too  Not sure if this was due to medication or menopause. The Dr did give me some Vaniqa cream which is supposed to slow the hair growth down. Unfortunately it gave me spots (which I've never had in my life) & made me itch, so I stopped using it. Now I use Nair facial brush on every few weeks. It does make my face sore & red but this only lasts a short time. It's more of a fine downy hair & people say they can't see it, but I can & it really bothers me.0 -
for my fine downy hair that gets a bit noticeable once it's longer, I trim it with a pair of scissors - not too short or it stands out...
for my one and only real old lady whisker I pluck it when it starts to grow through again.
Much cheaper than paying out every month. Because I have enough problems with spots as it is I avoid any epilation / waxing / threading of a major amount of hair.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Just a quick update...i bit the bullet and got my it threaded while getting my eyebrows done.
OMG, it hurt like hell!! However, looks sooo much better so i think i will man up and continue :rotfl:
Thanks for all your input!!0 -
I had mine waxed once, it really hurt, but it does work! i know its been said but i really hope this helps!Never a faliure, always a lesson :T0

ok, its not cheap but get rid of it, once and for all, with laser.
the hair isnt very deep on top lip so you dont need as many treatments as some other parts of body.
Groupon do good offers at least once a week
Or if you are with Tesco points save them up and use SK:N0 -
I really recommend the epicare! :money:
I bought mine in January, but wish I found it years ago.
Its does work, is so simple to use, and the only really painful bit is the first time you use it (made my eyes water & sneeze lol)
I'm so much happier with my appearance, and more confident.
My mum has just bought herself one too0 -
i use a single hair epilator bought from QVC and think it is brilliant, I used to get top lip waxed but find it easier to epilate about once a week so only have a few hairs to remove0

Having tried waxing, threading and using tweezers (ouch!), I find the Nair sensitive facial cream to be great. I only have to do my upper lip every six weeks. The only downside is the slight chemical smell, but it goes away once you rinse off the cream.0
