Are you sure your figures are right? My DSA allowance usually paid about £8 per hour, nowhere near £70 lol!0

I was wondering that too. Mine is £8. Although if I go with a certain company, it's about 3 times that.:eek:Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked
50p saver #40 £20 banked
Virtual sealed pot #178 £80.250 -
mine is up to £56 per hour . think this is what my uni charges so thats what DSA pay. however i chose to go with an aspergers charity who charge £40 per hour for mentoring0

Our uni charged £10 for mentoring. £70 per hour is ridiculous, no offence to you OP as you clearly need the help but anyone who would fleece a disabled person for £70 per hour is just money grabbing. How on earth can they justify that cost?0

My uni charge the LEA £60 ph!Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0

Mine is listed as Specialist Mental Health Support @ £55 per hour. To make it worse the mentor is the same person that was my Uni Progression Worker before I got my award ... and that was free!
I'm still not sure what the OP's question is?Gone ... or have I?0 -

That is beyond wrong! How can they justify that? A charge to guarantee that there is a space yes but £55 an hour? I can hire a pharmacist and an optician and still have change from that (it's my job to book locums, can you tell lol?)
I'm sure the OP has been edited. I think the question was "I can pay £70 an hour so how do I go about finding someone to hire" which is why I asked what the person would actually be doing.0 -

You're right, it has been edited!
This is the first time I have actually thought about the fact that I can access support from outside the uni. My condition is pretty complex, and the help I need in overcoming my self imposed barriers does need something more than a *well meaning but totally unqualified* support worker. In that respect, a fully qualified mentor will cost £60+ an hour. However I am intrigued as to how many unis are making a cracking profit in offering these sub standard 'services'?Gone ... or have I?0
