Bully Tactics By Npower!

Hey Sterling, thanks for the very nice comment.
Pity the OP who I have tried to help (as others have) throughout the thread, couldn't be bothered to say a word.
Then again, I am not sure some of the realities of the situation were welcomed. Spent a good bit of time researching this, but I guess not all people have the same courtesy.:(0 -

I want them to stop blackmailing me to retain business with them and allow me to switch supplier without burdening us with these outrageous charges.
Simples!
If you are sure that you are right & npower wrong why would you sign another contract with them? Why not switch elsewhere as you wish & contest the disputed charges in court?
Bullys can only get away with it if you let them!0 -

It isn't always 100% about cost!
We wanted to switch to Ecotricity because of their environmental credentials.0 -

I just think that Npower's behaviour in this matter is disgraceful!
This is the bit that puzzles me, as you agreed to go on a business tariff way back in august, paying per quarter you should have received 2 bills by now, making the bill you have a problem with the 2nd bill charged at business rates.
Anyhoo contact Energywatch, they deal with energy consumer issues. http://www.energywatch.org.uk/0 -
We went on to business tariff back in August which is why we believed in all honesty (despite what some forum posters choose to think) that we were on a new contract. After all, we had switched from domestic to business and we were being billed at business rates from August onwards.
However, we did not receive the HUGE bill on non-contract rates until Npower's invoice dated 27th. January 2011.
Why did they not inform us that we were out of contract before this?0 -
Are you saying NPower has only billed you once since august, if so that is something else that needs looking at. NPower hiding the higher non contract tariff perhaps.0

It grieves me immensely, with Npower involved, but I have to say the OP's version of events looks wooly to me.
My view is similar to 'undaunted'. Take your business elsewhere and let a legal action take it's course, if you are sure of your case.
At the moment, I can see a lot of whining and not much substance or action to back it up.0 -
We went to business rate in August but we received no bills until 2 received in October, 4th. & 26th.
Then nothing until the disputed bill in January.0 -
