When I had the same problem I called the water board they came and fixed it and there was no charge.
I'm in Scotland if that makes a difference.

    Kind regards,

Hi all. I'm on benefits and only just scraping by. I've got a blocked drain that is overflowing and I was wondering if there is anywhere that can help me for free/for a reduced rate?

It is my responsibility because I own the house (with a mortgage), so I don't have a landlord!

I've tried Mr. Muscle type stuff, caustic soda, drain rods, plunger ... I've done everything I can think of so I think it's time to call someone in ... but I can hardly afford milk at the moment, so I don't know what to do. :-( I've thought round all my friends and I don't know anyone who knows about that sort of thing.

Too right, I agree with paddedjohn, these spongers make me sick.

The poster has a mortgage just like me yet I work to live and part of that is keeping the upkeep on my house, expenses I could do without.

Now this jasper wants his bloody bog cleaned out with taxpayers money!

The MP's have got nothing on this character!

    Good grief!

It's the 'something for nothing' brigade that makes me angry.

This sounds like essential work for health reasons.

I'd like the WATER BOARD do the work and then bill him, payable once he starts work again.

And the same for other freebies the out of work get too.

How does he pay his mortgage?
