i also have another phone on the contract for my other half and have been with them more years than i care to remember!

  • I doubt you're going to be able to get a newer model but you should get one that works. Contact the helpline by calling 150 from the handset and explain you have problems with it and see what they say. No harm in trying.

It may have been the newest they had at the time. Not all networks get models at the same time, some have an exclusive for time.

But as above, you should have a fully working phone. Call CS and they'll run you through a series of fault finds tests to work out what's going on.
  • hi thanks for your replies! i had already phoned and they reset all the settings and the blooming thing is still doing it! i know this one was available at the time as a friend had the newer one, same network. typically only saw this friend this week or i would have said something sooner! **sigh** never mind looks like i shall have to stick with this one! that said i have emailed orange in hope of some response so we shall see!!

Unfortunately upgrades aren't automatically the newest model, it's really down to you as the buyer to have researched the issue and decided in advance what model you want and what price you were willing to pay. You have no chance of getting this changed on that basis and it is only clouding the issue with regard to your faulty issue. Best thing you can do is forget about the newer model, you agreed to the model you have, it's a done deal.

With regard to the faulty handset, Orange as the retailer is responsible for resolution and you need to press them for it to be fixed or replaced (you will only get a replacement of the same model).
