Escape prepaid card & Ryanair

I have an Escape prepaid card which I got purely for use with Ryanair. I've used it a couple of times successfully in the past.
Today I needed to book a flight, so I transferred enough money onto the prepaid card and attempted to pay. The Ryanair site produced an error saying "Your account number is not valid". The box popped up instantly, before attempting to make the transaction, so I think it must have been a client-side validation that failed. I called customer support who told me to try deleting all cookies etc and try again - still the same. Tried using my phone - still the same. Called customer services again who didn't really have a clue - they just said to check my card, try with a different computer/browser etc.
In the end I just switched to my normal debit card. Funnily enough it worked first time with no problems...
Just wondering if anyone else has been having this issue recently. I'm not too badly off (£6.99 down plus an unwanted balance on my Escape card), but if I'd been booking return flights for a group it would have been a lot more.

Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

Couldn't agree more.
I PMed with my name and the last few digits of my account number. I also suggested he obtained authorization to post as a company representative to avoid situations like this in the future.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

Hmm... looks like a simple case of user error, I'm embarrassed to admit.
The digits on the escape card are not embossed and some of them have partially rubbed off. I was reading one of the digits wrongly, so Ryanair's website correctly failed to recognise the card number.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

I also have an Escape Prepaid card which was always successfully accepted by Ryanair until about 21st Jan. Since then it's been declined for no apparent reason. The card details are correct, the card has funds and, curiously, when I choose 'Mastercard' rather than 'Mastercard Prepaid' the transaction is processed and I'm hit with the £10 admin fee. Escape say it's nothing to do with them and Ryanair's useless Indian call centre trot out the usual 'card details must be incorrect' or 'try deleting the cookies in your browser' - all to no effect. I have faxed Ryanair's customer service centre in Ireland with no response yet. I have nowhere left to turn apart from being resigned to paying Ryanair's fees, which leaves me feeling as sick as a pig. Any ideas anyone?0
