Sent messages not kept -nokia c3 - why?

As above, on PAYG - had phone just before Christmas and have been away.
Lovely Mr T man[in charge of their phone section for 9 years and not a DimTim] says it can be changed if I wish - will do if this can't be rectified.

He was sure I was mistaken, but went through everything and found it to be so - sent msg folder coming up as EMPTY. He knew this was not possible, so spent an hour on it - same result. He then rang Nokia tech services and was told this is the single model which does not allow msgs to be kept....???

Seemed bizarre.

I have in the last week had three colleagues/acquaintances with same Nokia, both on contract and PAYG[if it makes a difference]whose msgs DO show in appropriate folder.

Can anyone [a] explain? rectify?

If I remember my Nokia days, saving sent messages is just a simple tick box in the messaging settings.

Thankyou both - have used Nokia only forever[over 20 years], so do know how.
Unfortunately, this is a glitch, maybe just on this one phone - hence my fully detailing A's work experience, in addition to my own.
Howver, general settings offer only these 3 options: font size, graphical smilieys , delivery reports[show note], which one would expect to be the answer. But, the sub-choices then are Embedded / off / show note. BE ASSURED, NONE OF THESE WORK.
Full manual nowadays is online and this is not nitty-gritty covered.

Further suggestions welcome thankyou.

Tested this with a fellow volunteer the other day. He used my phone to send his own C3 a msg and then repeated action in reverse. No msg shows on my phone. Full txt of sent msg shows on his.....????????

I got this phone just before Christmas and I had read reviews stating the same.

My C3 does keep sent messages, so I'm not sure if it's a glitch on individual phones or the network operator. For info, I am on o2 with a contract sim inserted.

Hook it up to Nokia Software Updated (or if it supports OTA updates, 'dial' *#0000# press options, and goto update) and see if there is a newer firmware version out, they tend to help with this sort of thing.

EDIT: Delivery reports are NOT the same as sent items.

Yes, do know this, thankyou - it's just that after many hours of my time and others', we've all tried everything, however ludicrous and unlikely to be relevant/effective it may seem.

It's odd that several identical models, two also on PAYG with Mr T, the other not, DO KEEP SENT TXTS.
