    Piston rings don't melt. Pistons do. Are you sure you're identifying the right thing? You'll only be able to see the piston rings when the pistons are out.

    I've replaced pistons in the past. Its almost always an engine out job, and usually a rebore. And often work needed to the head too. Have you priced up a second hand engine instead?

    Dead simples a piston ring could melt! However for it to do so it would have to reach a temperature where your pistons would simple be a pile of molten aluminium in your sump.

    You keep asking if a melted piston ring can be fixed. Simple answer "NO" if your engine has been that hot to melt a piston ring it is "FOOKED"
