advice needed bought curtains listed but the seller advertised the wrong size

these curtains were advertised as 90inches x 90 inches as new they were on a auction any way to cut a long story a asked the buyer if he had a buy it now price as i needed some curtains and liked these they said he would do them for £65 inc postage whch is good as they are £139 in next but he said he would not take them off auction or change the listing to a buy it now if i sent the money through paypal then he would take them off so i did that they have arrived today and they are not the size he stated in the advert ( i still have the advert in my watching ) they are 66 x 90 which are not wide enough i have sent him a message and he said he was sorry he measured his window and did not check the size on the curtains and asked me if they are ok and still fit i sent a reply saying no they are no good i paid for a bigger size and that was not what was stated in the advert they cost him £12 to post but my problem is where do i stand as it went through paypal not ebay do i still have a case as yet he has not sent a reply and he normally answer sstraight away as the other messages said sent through i phone so he gets instant messages

did you purchase as GOODS in paypal? If you did you can file a claim and get a refund. If you put services
or gift payment i think you have lost your money.

I would imagine you have 'gifted' the payment to the seller, so you are not covered by any Paypal protection.

Ring Ebay and explain that you are not a very experienced buyer and explain that the seller told you to send the payment prior to the listing ending. Hopefully the buyer send you the instruction to pay via the Ebay messages, get them to look at it. If you are lucky you may persuade them to act for you.

But what you have done is act outside of Ebay rules, so has the seller.

As per the posts above, the answer depends on how you paid for the item, if you paid for named goods then you are fine. If you gifted it to the seller then you cannot force a chargeback.

The seller might also be seeking advice on what to do next.

What he needs to do next is apologise profusely to the buyer and offer a full refund, plsu return costs on safe receipt of the returned curtains.

Personally I would log safely into paypal , find the transaction and see if it lets you open a dispute for SNAD. Persevere with paypal, there will be a link or a link via the resolution tab in your account somewhere.

Yes, SNAD is significantly not as described.

You don't need seller to answer your emails, just go for a paypal chargeback.

If no joy with paypal or the seller, is it possible for you to sell them again to get your money back?
