I quoted your post because you asked how much it would cost in other supermarkets and that's what I asked.
It's the OP who has suggested this is a con, but has failed to offer any explanation as to why this is the case.
And everybody knows that shopping around is cheaper. But most of us are lazy and will never bother going to more than one place for their groceries.0 -
What shocks me about asda isn't their lack of marketing hype or ability to correctly advertise their campaigns... it's the blaightent mistakes in their stores.
I was in one about 3 weeks ago and spotted that the rocket lollies were £1 a box, or 2 for £3 (and thats not a typo... 100 pence each or 300 pence for 2 boxes)
its not the first time i have spotted this either0 -

I guess they may have another promotion next week?
Or add different combo's?
So keep the same tag line? next week may cost £4.99 etc.
Did Jamie oliver used to say meals for under £5 in the advert he did about 6 months ago? so copying that gimmik a bit
Or they need to buy a calculator at head office.lol0 -

I can make this cheaper - get a value tin of chopped tomatoes. Add 3 mushrooms a red onion instead of the pasta sauce.0

Quite often you will find that other items are in the multibuy so as well as rocket lollies you may find fruit splits and chocolate ice cream lollies at £2 if you bought 2 of these you will save £1. The rocket lollies would most probably have been £2 at the start of the promotion but as they are keen to price match may have lowered the price.0 -
I make my own pasta sauce and my own garlic bread.... ok maybe not for half the price but the mince on the asda ad is the fat laden stuff which i wouldn't touch with a bargepole.
And to those who said i use low quality items actually no don't as i shop in sainsbury's tyvm.
And if i knew how to post a pic of the meal on the asda website which shows the meal covered with cheese therein the lies the con because the meal deal doesn't include cheese!0 -

That doesn't make it a CON! For example, if you buy a packet of ham and they have a picture on the front of a slice of ham on a crispbread with soft cheese and chives on top... would you expect it to include the other items too??
Any if the meal comes to less than £4 then you could indeed add cheese and still have the meal for under a fiver.
Im not really sure why you are all getting you knickers in a twist. :think:CC Debt Jan: £2469

Sainsbury's isn't an automatic seal of quality. List what you use to prove you can make it for half the price (£1.89 by your reckoning).
As for the cheese, you can add cheese to your shopping list and still make it under a fiver, so still not a con.We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
My opinion i am entitled to it. I don't need to prove anything, this is not hotukdeals for goodness sake!
And yes tifa if i seen an ad for a meal deal and the picture had cheese on it would expect the cheese to be included.0
