Hi guys,
This is my first post so hope you can help. Me and my husband are looking to go on holiday in may. We have been contemplating so many destinations and have finally decided on Thailand.
After doing some research and speaking to some experts we have come up with the following as a possibility:
5 nights in Hua Hin, 5 nights in Cha-am and 5 nights in Bangkok. Has anybody done anything similar to this? We have never been to Thailand so all advice would be great
Thanks

To be quite honest ther's not much point spending 5 nights in Hua Hin and then 5 in Cha -am as they are so close together. Hua Hin is best. Bangkok is also good but maybe you would be better flying to one of the islands for the other 5 nights. Fares are cheap. Koh Samui is nice as are parts of Phuket. Just my opinion of course, others may differ! You will absolutely love Thailand.travelover0

Thank you for the reply littlereddevil, I will look into that. We were thinking Phuket may be a little too commercialised with a lot of Brits, am I right?0

i did bangkok pattaya and phuket last year ( jan) and had a brilliant time
we stayed at the majestic grande in bangkok the amari orchid towers in pattaya and the diamond cliff resort in phuket we also managed to go to phi phi island when in phuket and it was lovely
we had 24 night i think and paid around 1250 - 1300 or so inc flight transfers and hotels
( actually the whole time there we only met a few british lads in bangkok in a bar everyone else was from australia america russia and other parts of asia
i went to hau hin a few years ago and stayed at the marriot resort which was lovely i think that ch am is just down the road ( next resort along) so probably not worth it
personally i would do bangkok hau hin and then one of the islands0 -
That's a brilliant price you paid Charlearose. To be fair I think that is one of the reasons we have decided on Thailand as I think we will get the best value for our money.
Makes sense not to go to Hua Hin and to Cha-am so thanks for the tip. So I am going to look at Hua Hin, Bangkok and somewhere else. Who did you book with?0 -
Have a look at the TravelbagAsia website and click on Thailand multicentres to give you some ideas for combinations and prices.0

I loved Hua hin but be aware that the beach is not the same as you will find in say Koh Samui/Phuket. The water is not clear and and the sand not white more yellow, pleasant for a walk but not for swimming. Have you considered Krabi , the main resort Ao Nang doesn't have much of a beach but you can get little boats over to great beaches and the scenery is fantastic. Most people seem to like the beaches in Phuket but I didn't think much of the place or the beaches. Koh Samet is a lovely island not too far from Bangkok with beautiful beaches but the accomodation is more budget and you might have to book that independently.0

5 nights in Bangkok is too long.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

thanks for all the information and suggestions, we're just going through where the best places to visit would be...
janie2008 i will have a look at koh samet now, i agree with you about the beaches, just coming across that now
richardw your right, have realised that and are now looking to do 3/4 nights in bangkok0 -
With Bangkok, you can do the Royal Palace in the Morning and drinks before sunset at a hotel roof top bar in the afternoon and perhaps stay on for dinner http://www.captivatist.com/coolest-places-to-visit/fine-rooftop-dining-in-bangkok-vertigo.html
I'd spend more nights by the beach, we liked Khao Lak, than in Bangkok.
We also went to the Angkor temples at Siem Reap in Cambodia, amazing sights.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
