Bye bye Talk Talk

Talk Talk have an offer of broadband with unlimited download. I noticed this yesterday which was the same day I was connected to my new ISP (Plusnet).
Why did I change my ISP? I was a customer of Tiscali who were taken over by Talk Talk. I had an unlimited download limit with Tiscali but when they were taken over by Talk Talk they gave me an “upgrade” to reward my loyalty which consisted of a 40GB download limit. They sent me an email and a snail mail telling me this. When I asked if this could be considered a downgrade they sent me some boiler plate text which may have had something to do with my question but then again it might not.
The reason I was concerned is because being of the older generation some of the people I communicate with never learned to type. One or two of them can barely feed themselves so we exchange video mail. Often we use Messenger or Skype and in addition to this I have a hobby involving films some of which I download.
Anyway, the search for a new ISP has resulted in me becoming a customer of Plusnet who have no limit between midnight and 8am. This suits me because I can record video mail and send it then or get films overnight.
The change to Plusnet went well. I found them by using a screen scraper, got a MAC code from Talk Talk and within the ten days promised the changeover was made. I had a phone call from Talk Talk during this time with a real person on the end. It was too late though.
And yesterday Talk Talk advertised an unlimited download deal. Makes it all seem worthwhile somehow.

It's not my fault your honour, they made me do it.
