ISA Transfer

Hi everyone

I currently have an ISA with the Cumberland Building Society which can be dealt with by visiting the branch only and by using a paying in book etc.

I am looking to transfer this to an ISA I can manage online which is much better for me as I have set up all my accounts this way now and with a baby due in the next 4 weeks, I want everything as easy to manage as possible.

Does anyone know the best place to transfer to at the moment so I can manage it online and any banks that will allow me to set up the transfer online also rather than having to go into branches etc. to sort it out?

Thanks :)

You yourself dont set up the transfer, the bank that you are transferring it to deals with this.

Just log on to any of them and choose, or you can go into any branch and fill in a form, they then send it
to your present Isa bank and complete the transfer.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Thanks, yeah was just wondering if any banks allow you to set it up online though as a few I have looked at all say you have to go to the branch and been heavily pregnant I'm trying to avoid that if I can at the moment :)

What about your own bank, have a look at the options on their web site.

I have all my accounts with the Halifax - dead easy.

Make sure they allow transfers in though

    1. Open the account online.

    2. Then complete the transfer form - see here for the form and instructions: http://www.halifax.co.uk/savings/accounts/cash-isas/transfer-your-isa/

Yes you can. You just can't contribute to more than 1 Cash ISA. Opening doesn't mean you are depositing new money!

You can have as many ISAs as you like.

The rule is that you can only pay new money into one ISA per tax year. This does not include transfers.

This means that you cannot pay part of your allowance into Natwest, and part into Halifax. It must go completely into one or the other. You can, however, transfer it around as much as you like once it is inside the ISA wrapper.
