Sorry this isn't very techie - don't know where to put my question ... which is ...
Can anyone recommend a cheap way to clean my laptop screen without having to pay out lots of ££££ for screen wipes?
I'm a bit wary about trying other things because I don't want to risk damaging the screen.
Thanks

Ocassionally I just use normal wet wipes that have been left to dry a little i.e. not used straight from the pack. Then use a bit of kitchen roll to gently buff off any streak marks!Useful is beautiful0

I picked up a box of 90 individually sealed wipes (branded Zeiss but looks like they are made in US so don't know what connection they have to Zeiss) for 99p in Home Bargains yesterday. I bought them for specs but it says they are also for computer screens.0

A micofibre cloth thats barely damp will do fine. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

A slightly damp cloth should do it, then wipe dry with a dry cloth.
All of the laptop manuals that I have read say that you shouldn't use anything other than water to clean the screen in case you damage it, and the screen should always be wiped dry to prevent water stains.0 -
+1 for a damp cloth followed by drying. I use microfibre to dry but it isn't essential.0

I just use tissues with tap water: one kept wet, but not so the water runs when applied to the screen, and one dry.0

Would the wood fibres in tissue paper scratch the screen?
I remember my optician telling me to clean my glasses with a cotton cloth as tissues could scratch them. I suspect the surface of an LCD panel is softer than the lenses in a pair of glasses too...0 -
Advice seems to be not to use anything like tissue paper. Microfibre cloth and water (maybe distilled or even deionised!) seems to be the recommendation.0
