Move from one O2 provider to another?

My contract with Carphone Warehouse on O2 ends this month and I want to move to a Tesco contract also on O2.

Do I need a PAC code even though I am staying with O2?
If not how do I move providers but keep my O2 number?

I had an O2 contract with CPW and I changed to a sim only O2 card through them. I needed a pac code in order to do so - they sent me a new sim and ported my number a couple of days later - CPW did it all for me though so I'm not sure about TESCO - can you ask them how it works?

Tesco are a mobile virtual network operator who use O2's physical mobile network. So although you'll still be using the same telephone masts, etc, your phone will be handled by a different operator.

This means that, yes, you'll need to request a PAC if you want to take your number over to Tesco

Yup, just to confirm that you'll need a PAC to move to any network using the O2 network that doesn't have O2 in the name so although Tesco use O2 you'll still need a PAC to keep your number.
