    Can I join in?!

    Today, I will:

    Check bank account
    check Onepoll
    CLOSE Capital One credit card! :j
    Make a list of all household utilities I can start via cashback sites (£70 for home/contents insurance and £40 for Sky so far!) as I'm moving house soon
    Have (free!) dinner with bf's parents and defrost food for the rest of the week
    Check eBay items as they finish tonight. No bids yet though :(

    I would have listed home-made lunch but forgot to take any this morning... Though I did manage to find houmous and pitta bread for £2, which will last tomorrow too, so don't feel so bad!
  • Morning all!

    My list for the day:

    - checked online banking
    - checked for and done surveys
    - laundry on airer (my tumble dryer will die of boredom at this rate!)
    - made soup for lunches
    - started prepping dinner (from stores/menu)
    - packed lunches for all
    - do a bit of tutoring with daughter later (we thought about paying a tutor, but it turns out I can still do maths after all these years, and we're enjoying working together :) )

    Hope everyone has a good day - esp. those of you not feeling up to much today :)
    2011 wins: 2 day gym membership, film download, NETBOOK!
    Debt at LBM: [STRIKE][/STRIKE] [STRIKE]26/1/11 = £4733.26[/STRIKE] 11/6/11 = £3759.384

    Hello everyone , not been about for a bit but Woohoo the sun is shining :):) Doesn't it make you feel great :j:j
    Alibear - welcome , its lovely here , even if you come and go like I do, and its really helped me focus and deal with my money better.

    I had a minor positivity hiccup when my test results were not what I expected or hoped for but I've picked myself up , theres nothing I can do to change it so I'm not going to worry :)

    Today I have / will :
    • checked banks - as good as they can be
    • sorted balance transfers so all my CC debt is at least interest free
    • been on freebies board and got 2 cinema tickets for sunday for my DD and her BF:D
    • DD took packed lunch to college
    • got my food delivary today and finally should be able to start using scanner after resolving the issues with it.
    • all food from stores
    • little potter in garden - fence came down in wind , neighbour has offered to put up a new one if we split cost which is a result for me.
    • list some bits on ebid / ebay - need to raise enough to buy at least one new mattress (need 2 doubles and a bedframe )
    • continue to clear and organise
    • surveys
    • competitions - had a bit of a break
    • Update sig :o
    • sparkle :D
    Have signed up for Race for Life :eek: So gonna start setting aside time to 'train'. I've had such poor health this past year it feels like a great way to get a bit fitter and hopefully raise money and give a little back .:A:A

    Thanks picasso2! I've been on this site a lot since getting a new house and planning a wedding - both very expensive activities!

    I just got refused a Virgin Money 0% balance transfer credit card. Apparently because I have 'too much available credit'. So I checked my file and three accounts I closed months ago as I'd paid them off myself and were left dormant for a while (amounting to about £2.5k) we still showed as open! I'm so annoyed; I only wanted to transfer my OD and a small credit card balance but thought a 0% would save me a few pennies. Grrr.

    Sorry to hear about your test results... I'm sure the running will help. I'm going to start soon by running from the train station to my office instead of getting the Tube, saving me about £80 per month in the process!

    Today I am:
    * skipping pub tea with the girls to prepare for job interview (better paid job also - woo hoo)
    * going to put those tops on ebay that I was meant to list yesterday
    * chop up old clothes into squares to sell as patchworking fabric on ebay

    I have already:
    * changed credit card from DD of minimum payment to Standing order of fixed amount £20 more than minimum amount.
    * made our pet rabbits food last a bit longer by supplimenting with greens (the veggie peelings/scraps) and giving her the broken weetabix no-one else will eat.
    * charged my mobile at work
    * brought my own lunch in to work from home
  • Lunch was my homemade soup for lunch which I've been bringing into work this week as well as bringing in some pineapple for afters;
    Had to book travel with work so go airport parking through Quidco (and remembered to refer a friend so I could benefit a bit more through that!);
    Booked BA flights for work and earned 1000 airmiles so now have enough for a UK / close Europe free flight;
    Will walk home tonight saving £1.20;
    Dinner will be mashed potatoes (I've got 2.5kg of potatoes to work my way through!) and a chilli type mince I've made and will also make some pasta tonight for lunch tomorrow;
    Have a valued opinions survey to do when I get home which will take me up to about £17 in rewards that are due to me!

    Good day as far as moneysaving / earning goes.
    Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
