Annoying but unfortunately from their business point-of-view customer acquisition and increasing revenue per user comes before rewarding customer loyalty.
To Sky, there's nothing in it for them to offer you anything - aquisition: you're already a long-term customer; and revenue: you already provide them with £42.50/m for the full package.
Your only option is probably to threaten to cancel and see what they offer you then (i.e. play to their customer retention targets).0 -

I cancelled my packaged with sky and now they bombard me with offers to return so it may be worth your while to threaren to cancel due to finacial reasons0 -
I threatened to cancel in September and got the full package for half price for 3 months.
I will now cancel at Christmas.0 -
I'm so glad someone else has noticed the ad sync thing, it's definitely getting worse too.
IKWYM about the way they chop and change the order they show old shows. I've just got into CSI and it was a nightmare trying to work out what what what and who was who because they jumped from series to series totally randomly.
Thankfully they started from scratch on Five US so I've been watching it on there, better still it's on freeview so when I cancel sky I'll still be able to watch it0 -
We did a bit of moneysaving and cancelled then just enjoyed the Free to Air channels for a few months.
They kept calling every 2 months with offers for us to come back...
In the end we were offered a great deal so went for it. They're terrible at offering things for existing subscribers tho... Same as the mobile phone companies, you only get a decent upgrade if you threaten to cancel0 -
There are much better deals to be had if you can get through to the cancellations department.
If you have Sky+ then the job to upgrade to SkyHD is just switching the boxes and phoning sky to upgrade your account... not many places are selling just the boxes yet - a friend did pick one up very cheap but the company said they were no longer offering them when I spoke to them a few months ago (think they got their wrists slapped for doing it)All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

I'm only on the basic Sky package and considering an upgrade to Freeview!!:D
I'm glad it's not just me noticing the damn advert timing either.:mad:0 -
just to update you all, i rang up to "cancel" earlier today and got:
20 pound Gesture of Good Will
sky world reduced from 43.50 to 30 for the next three months.
Basically ive got SkyHd for nothing for the first six months(if you do the maths)
took me an hour on the phone to sort out thou!0 -
we got free sky+ box and Skyworld for £10 a month (first 3 months) for coming back to Sky.
Need to remember to switch off teh Sky world when the promo period finished tho....0 -

did you still have to pay the full £300 for the box ? I assume you still got the £60 installation for free ?0
