share options question

Hi,

I'm being granted some share options by the company and I wonder if there is anything I could do to check (from my side) that the offer is properly made? Is there any document that outlines what a share options offer must look like?
Is there any place where I could go and check this (i.e. solicitor, FA, someone else)?

Thanks

    Thanks guys,

I've seen that stuff from the IR site and understand the process in principle, the problem is the the company is very small, never done that before, and I want to make sure it's done properly. All I've got right now is an offer letter to be signed by the company director and me, that simply outlines when the options are to be granted and I was told that that should be sufficient. Which I naturally would like to verify ;)
And also would like to know if there's any default provision for things like being able to exercise already matured options even after leaving the company, or what happens to the options if the company is sold, as it's not explicitly mentioned in the share option plan (which does not really exist).
