Hi,
Can anyone recommend a cheap but decent android mobile phone. It needs to be fairly simple though as it's for my mum who is a bit of a technophobe but loves my iphone and i want it back!
Thanks.
Sam. x

  • As the last poster said, Orange San Francisco. A few others out there but that is my favourite!

I would of gone for the Orange but was skint at the time , although have not regretted the 845 at all

San Francisco is a good choice, but also consider the HTC Wildfire. It's more expensive than the SF and the screen resolution is lower, but it's got a much better camera and the default UI may be more appealing. The SF is great with a custom rom, but the default Orange branding is particularly nasty.

This thing is absolute pap compared to the OSF:

    • Smaller screen
    • Lower resolution
    • Resistive input
    • Slower processor
    • Miles less RAM
It might well be slightly cheaper, but it's not in the same league.

True..BUT the orange guff can be removed very easily without the need for using a custom rom

Try before you buy. Particularly texting if you have large fingers.

I just feel the need to join in with a discussion about the San Francisco. Every excuse to talk about it lol.

To the OP, you can't go wrong with this phone, your mum will have a blast with it :T

If it's not TOO cheeky, can I ask how old your mum is?
