I accidentally and annoyingly dropped my phone and have smashed the screen in the corner. I can't get through to apple so was wondering if anyone knew how to get it fixed and how much it would cost? :(

£28 from this ebayer, who i can personally vouch for. Very quick and efficient service. Did mine a few months ago. He has a proper shop as well as ebay.

Assuming you bought the phone from Apple directly there's a good chance (though not guaranteed) that Apple will either repair the phone or give you a brand new/almost new replacement free of charge. However you will have to make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple store and explain to them what happened (do take your receipt)...if you were to get it repaired via their telephone support then they will definitely charge you.

anyone that charges 76.99 to unlock an iphone on o2 seems bit scummy to me... i done this via o2 myself for nothing.

That said - 28.99 for screen repair aint bad :rotfl:

Not a chance, the warranty doesn't cover phones being dropped. They will swap the phone out for £150ish though.

Of course officially the warranty won't cover accidental damage, if it did then you would have every tom, !!!!!! and harry smashing up their iphones so they could get free brand new replacements to flog on ebay. As it has been widely reported on avforums.com the Apple store people have been known to offer new/refurbished iphone 4 to people who have done accidental damage to their iphones (obviously still in warranty)....however this purely depends on your luck and if you storm into an apple store and DEMAND a free replacement then most likely they will tell you to get lost. Be polite, charming and humble and more often than not, they will offer you a free replacement;)

The unlock is now a bit of a rip off I will agree but this guy was doing the unlocking before O2 weree doing it for free. I know because I actually paid £125 at the time! Luckily O2 refunded the charge as they started to unlock just a week after and I argued they should have known.

OP If you contact the ebayer he will advise you. Its the cheapest I have found for replacing the screen.

I can confirm this as correct for 3 iphone 4's. (twice for my own and once for my wife). The customer service in apple stores is amazing. I admitted it was my fault that i dropped my phone etc and they just replaced it with a shiny new one.
