wireless adapter problem

ok think i have got it my mistake really as mentioned in earlier post someone mentioned the security compatibility, i did change it but i never saved it, i disabled the security on router and i could connect with adapter but when put back on adapter cuts out, i did try to set to the WEP setting but it would not connect for some reason so im just going to buy another adapter to save any more hassel, so once again thank you all.0
