contract changed fron 18months to 24

Hi after some help i took an 18month contract out with orange for my son .yesterday after doing some browsing noticed this has changed to 24months contacted orange over this but got no were apart from headache talking to sales in india.
They also told me i took the phone out with carphone warehouse which is rubbish as i phoned oranges sales on 150 and took out with them.
Im 15 months in to this contract and they just kept telling me to forward contract details which after 15months i dont have im 100% certain it was 18month contract as was xmas present for my son and told him he would have to pay remaining 6months.Can any1 give me some advice on this and has it happened to any1 else
