Might have been expensive at the time, around £500 I think, but has definitely paid for itself over and over again. I do at least 1-2 loads every day, frequently 3. It has a quick wash that only takes 40-45 mins and that copes with just about everything except boys white shirts and farm jeans.
If it ever dies I'll be replacing it with exactly the same again.
Same as us - we have been running ours for nearly 4 hours a day on average, every day, for the last 12 years. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
We bought a Candy machine which has been truly awful with the 90 minute cycle taking almost 140 minutes and it stops before rinsing and has to be moved though the programme manually . It leaked a while back and we had difficulty getting an engineer to even look at it, the name put them off despite their £50 call out fees0

I got a Bosch 2 and a half years ago, had the service guy out to it 3 times and it still died in October - outside its warranty. Bosch customer services are saying something similar to "tough" at the minute and are offering no help. Wouldn't touch another Bosch with someone elses bargepole. It did a maximum of 3 washes a week, no heavily soiled stuff, wasn't abused in any way.... no good. Mabe I was just unlucky though.0

We bought a Bosch dishwasher when we moved in 12 years ago. After 10 years heavy use it needed replacement, so we bought the equivalent model, which I was surprised to find was the same price after all those years. Having seen the new one, I can tell you how they did that. The construction quality was noticeably lower. The all stainless steel interior had become partly plastic. The door adjusters had been left off. I didn't take it apart to compare the mechanical bits, but I suspect that there has been paring down there too.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I have the 11kg LG one and I love it. You can wash a big basket of washing all in one go. You can fit up to a 10.5 tog King size duvet in it as well. There are no brushes in it (my brushes in my old Hotpoints (i've had about 5!) used to go every 18 months) and it's quiet.
It has a quick wash option which takes 30 minutes. An allergy setting which gives 4 rinses instead of the normal 2 (my son has eczema). I have the steam version and you can put stuff in to get freshened up if they're not dirty - and that takes 20 minutes.
Could you post the model number for this?
Ours broke last night and need a new one.
Was looking for one with a quick cycle and also as we have 2 young kids that allergy setting seems good.0 -

This is the model number - LG F1443KDS http://www.lg.com/uk/home-appliances/washing-machines/LG-white-washing-machine-F1443KDS.jsp
If you want one with the steam function make sure you get one with the S at the end of the model number. There is also an 11kg model LG F1443KD, which is slightly cheaper but it has no steam function.
You can also get the same machine, with the same features, but with an 8 or 9 kg load capacity.0
