Transferring CASH ISA to current account or S&S ISA

I have 2 ISA's at the moment with Santander. One is just over 3k and one is about 11K.

I wanted to transfer to a S&S ISA but I haven't got enough for this tax year. How do I go about either transferring to my current account with another provider or a savings account ?

I've already accrued the interest due for this year so I don't think I will lose this.

You can transfer any of those cash ISAs to a S&S ISA, there should be no limit involved as it is already in an ISA wrapper?

What is the limit that you believe you need to hit? The £10200 is a maximum for new money into the account not a fixed requirement.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Ahhh yes...totally forgot that transfers are exempt from this fee. Can I split an ISA and transfer half to one S&S ISA Fund and one to another ?

You transfer the cash to a s&s isa wrapper provider, for example Hargreaves Lansdown. Then you elect (tell HL) what funds to put it in, for example Junior Oils Trust, Invesco Perpetual High Income etc. You can split it among as many as you like subject to any minimum stated by the provider/fund manager.

    Sorry to hijack this thread.

    Couple of questions:

I have around 10k (or so) in a Cash ISA accumulated over the last 2 tax years.

If I transferred these funds over to a S&S ISA am I still allowed to add £5,100 from the present tax year for the S&S part?

If I want to chose funds for my S&S ISA is/are HL the best way to go?

The transfer doesn't affect this years allowance. So provide you haven't already invested in a S&S ISA this year, the answer is yes you can.

H&L seem to be generally preffered on this board for funds. You just have to put up with all the marketing material.

Have sent over this years £5,100 and will send the other £10k over the next week or so.

Does anyone have any advice about the mix of funds to chose - I suppose dividing it into high, medium and low risk might be the way forward.

Are there any specific funds I should choose or avoid?

    Any tips?
