i live in blackpool - tourists do spend a lot in blackpool, you can have a cheap holiday here if you know where to go and plan in advance. there are lots of deals online for the tower/pleasure beach etc. plan everything in advance and then you how much you'll spend everyday -and then you'll know if its cheaper to go abroad etc.
there are some good meal deals and cheap shops for little toys to keep the kids amused.
