LOL good idea. Anyone who wants to practise their Italian with a native speaker, here I am :)
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

  • Nice idea, although as it's not strictly speaking a MoneySaving topic I don't think we'd have a full-blown board for it. How about starting a thread for each language on the Discussion Board?

And if anyone thinks they can get away with being rude in those just report the posts to the forum team as usual - I can read Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French and a smattering of Japanese so the guys can just ask me what they say if need be :D

Edited: I can read Japanese when it's not written in hiragana or katakana :)
Could you do with a Money Makeover?

Wow! Does that mean you read Kanji? That's remarkable.

From time to time I see the odd Gaijin on the Tube practising writing Kanji in a copy book. Must be quite a challenge!
  • Nope, should have said that as well but pregnancy brain meant I couldn't remember the name of the other alphabet :o

Basically I can understand some Japanese if it's written in phonetically in our alphabet and I can hold a basic conversation and get the gist of what people are talking about when I listen. Sorry - it sounded like my Japanese is much better than it really is
