Doing quite well on the paperwork sorting today. I've had a pimms to toast Diva.
This afternoon I sat and watched a programme on catch up and sorted some gardening files - not what I would usually do but Diva's sad departure has made me re-evaluate somethings.
Hex how was your first day hun?The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Finished Purple Monday in memory of Diva
Went to see mum in care home after tea to be told Dad had fallen in garden, rang him, flew to boots for heat pads and painkillers then flew round to see him. He is 76 and has broken his ribs, refuses to go to hospital and says they won't do anything anyway with it being his ribs. He has a heart condition but says he would feel worse in hospital and refuses to go. Got friends on standby if needed to babysit in night and told dad to ring no matter what time if he needs me. Told him my eldest DD1 his DGD knows and she will be down to see him, she is the only one that can play merry he// with him and he will listen. Mum spoke to him on phone and is feeling a little better. DD1 just rung she is going to ring him then no doubt she will pick me up to go with her whilst she goes down and tells him he needs an ambulance. Sorry to moan, it's been a rough couple of weeks.
On a slightly lighter note came back home to find glass in woodburner cracked, asked DD age 6 how it happened she said daddy tried to put a big piece of wood in and shut door. Daddy says he took wood out as it was too big but didn't close door. Out of the mouths of babes. Oh well that's the least of my worries.
Going to light a candle now for Diva, sorry it's not a purple one but it's burgendy and sparkly.
Hugs to all who need them, also sticks and spoons xxxLife is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. – Hilary Cooper

Lady-L - What a lovely post, I was blubbing, big massive hugs to you xxx
I have lit a virtual candle as well, what a lovely idea, thanks to Mrs B for the link x
I never got back on this afternoon, I cleaned out the bathroom, changed the bedsheets in my bedroom.
DH had to do dinner tonight, I felt terribly lightheaded and sick, my 2 little ones have had a terrible flu over the last three weeks so hope I am not catching it.
You have all done superb on your purple Mondays, and I am honoured to be part of such a great bunch of people, even if most of us have not met in RL!
AnW's I would love a glass of rose, cut alcohol back to weekends only but I will raise a glass in memory of Diva x:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T

It went very well, thanks for asking. Information over load atm but they have tried so hard to make me welcome.
Just off to clean the bath before I use it. I bet I also have to pick three peoples dirty washing off the floor 'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

Please may I join in - I work full time but need a bit of motivation to start doing some cleaning when I get in around 6.00pm so that I can spend the weekends doing fun things with my DDs. I vacuumed my floors yesterday but did manage to empty the fridge, wipe all the shelves down & bin anything past it's best so that I could unpack my Tesco delivery when it arrived at 8.10pm this evening - hopefully this will count towards my 'flying' tally?
Looking forward to tomorrows tasks - will do my mirrors tomorrow night as I find doing those strangely rewarding (although a little scary when I can see myself more clearly in the mornings!). Can anyone help me out with a shop that stocks the pink liquid windolene - my Tesco doesn't do it and I prefer it to the spray window cleaners? Thanks0 -
May I also join the merry throng? I've only just got home but read this at work and managed to phone and persuade DH to hoover the sitting room (which I'd decluttered last evening). This is flying at its finest - getting someone else to do it :rotfl:
My DD has just come to say goodnight and said, wow, it's very tidy in here. Enough said. This must continue!
Rest of the house looks like 17 tips. Baby steps, that's the way...0 -
Thanks, Jo. I lit a candle.Great Link Mrs B
