Let me say in plain English one very last time
I had £300 in my bank account ready to pay bills , feed kids and put towards Hosp. Some naughty person came and hacked my iTunes account and left me with zero funds in my bank account. I came here hoping a nice person who has banking knowledge could helpe with banking rights. That's all. Get it now?
You have been the unfortunate victim of a nasty crime.
Your bank have been unhelpful and unmoral and the worst thing about it is that there is no legal recourse against Barclays.
This has led to a lower quality of living for you and your kids until you are able to (albeit slowly) recoup your losses.
Had this not happened you would have no trouble affording your nice phone, and the hospital appointments.
Unfortunately in this instance it has happened. It is awful, and immoral, but the crime has been committed and you are through no fault of your own short of cash as a result.
Far from casting judgement on your position, or suggesting what you should do, I think other poster was simply sharing a consideration they may personally have themself in a situation like yours - what is worth more - having an iPhone over a cheap phone, or my family's quality of life?
It's a sacrifice you shouldn;t have to, but certainly have the option to make, should you feel one need outweighs the other.
Good luck with your situation. You deserve better for coping / dealing with such a complicated family life.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Have you contacted Apple to find out which Apple ID the money was credited to? Apple have a duty to help...0

There's a huge amount of fraud to Itunes at the moment, some banks will treat as fraud (where i work, we're taking the cases on) and some will just send their customer back to Itunes as it's their Itunes account that has been compromised, not their card details. Can't blame the banks really and if the chargebacks are not sucessful then the customer will be re debited. I missed the point on the OP but do agree that Barclays could help a bit more from a customer service point ! Although ultimately it will be down to Originalkitten to chase this with Apple for her refund, they're usually quite good with refunding but with the amount of fraud at the moment they'll probably be a bit slower than normal.0
