Desperately need help with bank fraud

Jenni it's on contract and was an upgrade of my old phone. I cannot sell it. The reason I have a phone is because of my health. If I collapse in the street which happens a lot or if either of my children are ill. One is severely ill with a muscle wasting disease & the other is a severe asthmatic. Its a necessity and cheaper for me to cave a contract rather than payg.

I didnt realise I would have to answer and explain my finances regarding my possessions while asking for advice on how to persue this matter. I'm really taken aback now. That is extremely unhelpful and intrusive. God forbid should you ever find yourself in my position. I hope if you do people will respond kindly and are helpful, not like what I have gotten here.

Bendix ty for your help. I'm not strong enough to deal with the trolls. I'm actually a fragile person trying to hold it all together and be strong for my kids, especially my youngest. It is worrying enough for me regarding his and my own health without this theft. I'm sorry I cannot cope with the negative posts towards me. I have done nothing wrong. Ty for being the only person to go out of their way to help me. I hope karma is good to you. I won't be back to this thread.

You can sell it. Just keep the sim card and get a cheaper phone. You may have to buy a phone which accepts micro sim cards, or alternatively speak to your contract provider and see if they can send you a regular-sized sim. You will still have your contract, you will still have a phone, and you will have £200+ extra on top (depending on what version it is and where you sell it).

So now genuine sickness and disability claimants aren't allowed to hve nice things? And the occassional 59p tune? I watch and spend every penny carefully. I don't drink or smoke and I'm too ill to socialise. My only contact to people is via a computer usually. I own no gold. Not one piece. And as explained b4 my phones on contract so I cannot sell it besides how would I do that. I live a £40 taxi drive from the nearest cash concertor. And no my grandparents are dead and my childrens father is dead. There is only my mother and she has done what she can but is short of cash herself plus I don't want to get into debt by borrowing money. Anyway ty to those who did answer nicely. I'll try the crisis loan route. At least its a debt that won't be completely in my mind. Ty for understanding and being nice to me. I really appreciate it.

It WAS an upgrade of a crappy old phone. I told vodafone I was leaving them and they knocked £15 off my bill and gave me an iphone3. Which in consumers eyes is now a crappy Old phone.

If someone gave u the choice of having a crappy phone or iPhone both the same price what would u chose?

I honestly cannot believe I am having to justify me having a certain phone. Up until I was ill i was a hard working secretary for a car finance comp. I have been I'll 3 years and boy do I feel the wrath and tuts and evil lOoks cause I hve nice things. I save up like everyone else and do treats only at Xmas and birthdays. But yet people seem to think that its a sin for people on benefits to have nice things. Sick people
Have to sit in a corner wearing rags and feeling sorry for themselves. Sigh. In done totally now. Can't rake anymore.

No one is saying you can't have nice things at all, but you did come onto a forum asking for helping because you have no money to pay for a hospital visit but can afford a nice expensive phone.

No I never came onto the site asking for help cause I have no money. I came onto the site asking for help because someone hacked my iTunes account and wiped my bank account of all money. I had just been paid. And once again how is a free phone an expensive phone? And how is a £24.99 contract w 1200 mins n free txt expensive. This saves me cash when I call other mobiles or if I'm in Hosp it's cheaper than the hospphone. And it wasn't just to visit anyone in Hosp. It was to take my son to hospital for tests. He stays there and I'm hoping I'm well enough to stay w him rather than come home as it would save a lot. I am panicking about having no money to get there.

Only reason I mentioned finances was because of that smartass post and to stress how desperate I am.

I looked into selling my phone via those mail things b4 I posted here but they send a chq. I would have to wait 5 days plus I am reluctant to pay anything into this account. I cnt go to cash converters as nearest one is £40 in a cabhe as I can't get public transport. I also asked carphone warehouse (who did the deal) about selling and they said they wouldn't advise it. The contract is new and they said it would look bad on file or something so that is why I won't sell it.

Lol you think that I haven't exhausted every avenue before turning here? I have nothing worth selling. This phones refurbished and only a 3.

All I wanted was advice on my rights regarding theft and it turned into a bashing. I hope you are proud of yourselves as you've left me very shaken. Do you come on this site to help or be judgemental and troll people. People who you have no idea what they are going through on their personal lives. What gives you the right to ask intrusive questions about something that had anything to do w the OP post.

I think martins site should be renamed moneysavingtrolling as it seems fro this post and 99% of the others that this is the main purpose of the site.

Let me say in plain English one very last time

I had £300 in my bank account ready to pay bills , feed kids and put towards Hosp. Some naughty person came and hacked my iTunes account and left me with zero funds in my bank account. I came here hoping a nice person who has banking knowledge could helpe with banking rights. That's all. Get it now?

How can anyone help?

The bank will investigate the fraud and if its proved you should have your money refunded.

Unfortunately, things like this take time and its always wise to have some spare cash set aside for emergencies.

What more do you want from MSE? Whinging on these forums isn't going to put the money back into your bank account any quicker.
