Our Boiler is not Working

Our boiler is not working it's ancient and we think that we need a new one living in the Sheffield Area, oh and the house is up for sale, Help???

So where would we go for a cheap new boiler, obviously not the big 6 as British Gas quote around £1900.

Help, please

    Make/model/problem..?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

You only 'think' you need a new one? Before you spend £1500+ on a boiler you'll not get the benefit of, it might be worth spending £60 ish on a call out from a local recommended GSR RGI to find out what the problem is, and maybe put it right for a lot less.
Putting in a brand new boiler is not going to add anything to the value of the property.
Edit: so relight the pilot light. It's hardly terminal!

A pilot light going out(and not staying on when re-lit is the commonest fault.

Although can be many reasons, it is often just a faulty thermocouple; which is easily replaced.

    Got one myself.

One of the most reliable boilers ever made.

    Dont bin it,fix it.

    Likely causes

Blocked pilot light or worn thermocouple..cheap to fix.

I had a pilot light issue on 31st December 1999, at about 3pm.
Had the jet cleaned, thermocouple replaced, lasted another ten years.
It must be an obscure form of the Y2K bug.:D
