That's appaling!! I'd go mental - and I don't even use the bus!! Will they be charging wheelchair users as well? I'm really shocked at this. Someone tell me they're not allowed to do this! PLEASE!!Live as if your were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever - Mahatma Gandhi0

they could charge if they think the child is 4 (or is it 5?) i suppose (so that's when my enormous baby reaches about 2 years old then!!) but not for the buggy itself.
mine (arriva) has signs up saying the child must remain strapped into the buggy, put the brake on and don't leave it unattended etc. - they don't want you to fold up your buggy. i was turned away last week when a bus already had 2 buggies on board because there's only space for 2 buggies/wheelchairs and a third would block the aisle. one mum with an older awake child offered to put hers down and get the child out but the driver said no.52% tight0 -

omg does that mean they will charge for wheel chairs aswell?:mad:0 -
i assume so, only space for 2 buggies/chairs and if they are taken that's it. i doubt they'd do a refund on the ticket if a buggy user was to offer to get off and catch the next bus, giving up their space.52% tight0

Thats well out of order if they charge for pushchairs - though knowing First Bus it wouldn't suprise me. They run the buses where I am and even though they're supposed to be buggy friendly half the time they are not.0

I asked DH who works for First and he hasn't heard anything. I think the comment was maybe made tongue in cheek as I can't really see any company asking for people to pay for buggies.0
