Problems with missing items delivered from IKEA

Just looking for some advice.

On the 2nd of January, my partner and I bought a kitchen from IKEA. It was delivered the next day, we were told to count the amount of boxes and sign the delivery note. Nearly 4 weeks later, the kitchen fitter is round to fit the kitchen. He notices that 2 doors and a carcass for the cupboard are missing and we have 2 extra items that were not part of our order. So we go to IKEA to get the items exchanged.

We were told that since we signed the delivery note to say that there were the correct amount of boxes there, we must have all of our items and the 2 incorrect items must just be "extra" items that they accidentally delivered to us. Obviously, at times there can be human error. So it is obviously possible that we counted the items wrong by 1, and the 2 incorrect items were given to us by mistake in replacement for our correct items. But as a gesture of goodwill, they offer us just under half price for us to buy the items we have already purchased and not received from them. So we turned this down and told them that we wanted the items we had paid for. My partner was obviously frustrated and raising his voice (I know this is the worst thing you can do, but there's only so many "I understand that sir, but..." and "there's nothing we can do"), so security was called and we were told to leave the desk and were not allowed to take home with us the 2 incorrect items that we had returned, as they were "the property of IKEA".

Later that day, we e-mailed IKEA and our e-mail was obviously forwarded to the same store we had the issues, and we have been told that we will not be getting the items we have paid for. Also, that the delivery men would have allowed for us to spend however much time we needed to check through every box to make sure it was correct (utter rubbish!).

I am just wondering where to go from here? Please let me know if you believe we are in the wrong but I strongly feel we have been ripped off. Can't seem to get through to anyone in IKEA that we should be entitled to the items we paid for. Seems that because we signed the delivery note, we have said that we had all incorrect items (bearing in mind, they took back the 2 incorrect items from us and we have received no refund or exchange).
