I Trust Your Advice! Switching from iPhone
Hi guys, always trusted the advice I read here and hopefully this time it'll be no different.
I'm in a bit of a quandary, at the moment I have the original iPhone 2g which I bought just over 2 years ago. To begin with I just stuck in my O2 sim and stuck with the contract I had - which coincidentally was a brilliant retention deal. When it ran out I didn't fancy switching so let the contract roll and then moved to an iPhone simplicity last March.
I currently pay £20 a month (or whatever it is after VAT now) and my contract is up for renewal on Thursday. Unfortunately I can't, or don't think I can afford an iPhone 4 unless they offer me a great deal on upgrade - something which reading the retentions thread doesn't look likely.
So I've pretty much resigned myself to having to get rid of my iPhone. My question is what is out there that is worth my money. I'm happy to spend £25p/m max and don't mind spending a bit for the phone, and have seen some ok deals with O2. I don't necessarily mind switching, but can't say I've seen any deals with are too dissimilar to O2 anyway so may as well just keep my number.
Are BlackBerry's really worth getting, and is the Torch any good, or should I stick with the Bold? Or should I go for an Android phone?
I'm really stuck, because I love my iPhone but it's becoming a bit obsolete now
Hopefully someone can open my eyes up to the different possibilities that exist!
Thanks.

I loved my iPhone, was brilliant! Sold it around Xmas time, I've now got a HTC Desire HD, £25 a month, free phone, 600 minutes, 500 texts and un-limited internet (fair usage of 3GB). Wouldn't look back now, so much more to do, can modify pretty much everything you need to.What is pi? Where did it come from?0

In the past I found it relatively easy to upgrade my handset but now there's so much choice I really dragged my feet and scratched my head this time. I just could not decide and I understand your dilemma.
I guess the fundamental difference between phones now (software aside) is touchscreen or qwerty.
Tech Radar did a 'Best of...' recently, with the HTC Desire coming out just ahead of the iPhone in the number one position. It's a touchscreen phone and looks to have some great features and gets pretty stellar reviews across the board.
The iPhone 4 seems to have both lovers and haters. I know people who would never have anything other than an iPhone, but because I'm a Macbook/iPod/Apple TV user I was put off by the seen-it-too-many-times-before interface, which is fab but pretty uncustomisable. And there's still my mild paranoia about the antenna problem, which I know is rectified but still makes me jumpy. Plus the white iPhone 4 isn't released until, I think, quarter 2. And then there's the other issue of the iPhone 5 being released in the Summer. Apple move way too fast...
So, back I came full circle to the trusty Blackberry. I was using an outdated Curve at the time of my upgrade. I trawled through the most recent models, and after a bit of a scan on the web, I plumped for the Bold 9780 in white. It's actually more a pearly white than a flat matt.
And I'm pleased to say - it's great. The software's super and it's a user-friendly business-styley phone. It's a different experience than the HTC/iPhone but I really believe there's nothing better than a Blackberry for calls, emails, messaging etc.
And the best part for me is the qwerty keyboard. I don't want anything more 'touchscreen' until someone has invented a none-fingerprinty fingerprint.0
