has anyone been to any of the edinburgh or surounding areas?0

Just been to Homebase store in Boston, Lincs, picked up 50l grobags for £2.49, 33l ones were £1.79. Some pots left, black ceramic at 50p, small earthenware with ladybird/dragonfly detail £1 and metal troughs for a £1 as well. Going fast, lady in front of me had a trolley full!! (I've only got a small car!!!!) :rotfl: PS No sign of reductions on wooden planters, couldn't of got them in the car so didn't get them scanned.0

Made a special trip to my nearest Home base, and the skies opened and it bucketed it down !!!
Found several different sizes and shaped wooden barrels, with rope handles and metal ones.
Some had reduced stickers inc ones that were originally £25, and had a 2 for £35 sticker.... but their reduced price was still £19.99.
Some much smaller ones were £9.99..... but due to me now resembling a drowned rat by this time, I decided to squelsh off and maybe try another day.... after the 40 days and nights of downpour is over.
Seriously, I will jot down exact measurements and bar codes etc quoted on here, and try scanning some. You never know I could fall lucky.
I could do with some anyway as I lost a lot of "pots" this winter. They may have been frost-proof, but not Siberian Winter proof0 -
Found Cedar barrels with rope handles of the right size BUT NEVER found any cheap ones

£17.99 with 2 for £21 being the cheapest - mind you looking at them I don't really think I'd have been happy paying even a miserly £5 for them - they were rough and very poor quality.
However I DID GET A RESULT :j :j
A really TOP-NOTCH fence panel, 6' x 6', for just £2
- apparently reduced from £13.79.
It had a very small bit of "damage" to it - a short length of 1" square batten about 2 feet long was missing - then I found that the £13.79 was the original reduced price (not the £2 clearance price) for the "damage" to it. Panel should have cost over £27 new. :rotfl:
(I did say it was a "quality" Top-Notch one)
THEN I GOT the REAL RESULT :j :j
TWO SHEDS :rotfl: :rotfl:
Reduced to a TENNER :rotfl:
6ft x 4ft x 6ft with Apex Roof - Originally priced and still on sale at £134.99
One had a damaged floor and the other had a roof panel missing.
BUT BOTH HAD ALL the hinges, door latch and hasp etc., plus a bag of all the nails needed to assemble them, AND each came with a small roll of roofing felt :rotfl:
Should take little more than £5 and perhaps 90 minutes to make, replace and repair bits to restore both sheds to "as new" condition :j
Really glad I dropped in now :rotfl:

Habloodymazing !!!! :T
Surely this didn't have a price label for a tenner on it?? I looked in a homebase today and there was a big clearance area but nothing that screamed mega bargain at me sadly.0 -
went to homebase yesterday but barrels (manky) still full price at 17.99 when scanned. However did get a big silver decorative ball and 2 galvanised troughs and some paint, spent £50 as it said there was 15% off if you spent £50 only to find at checkout that it didn't apply to "reduced" items. Grrr. This was not mentioned on any of the signs for 15% off just a tiny writing to look somewhere else for terms and conditions. But there were millions of the signs and no evidence of the terms and conditions. This is not good practice from Homebase. However pleased with my purchases even if they weren't a bargain.0

It's old stock as they have barrels that look almost exactly the same in the main garden centre bit marked at £17.99. There was big planters too, but I wasn;t sure about the 2 for £25 offer on them and as they are yellow labeled I didn;t check them out, I didn;t want to not be able to return them if they went through full price.
If you are concerned about them not going through, do the "Ooh dear, I seem to have forgot my purse/wallet, sorry"
I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100 -
Just tried this in Falkirk - didn't work
However they have compost bins reduced to 2.99 and lots of other bargains in the outside bit so was worth the visit :-)0 -
