Hi Folks
The boiler has just broken down again. I simply cannot afford the one off expense of getting someone out to fix it, but am thinking :
Is it possible to get a monthly insurance boilier breakdown contract with say British Gas today, and then call them out tomorrow with NO hidden extras - so in short say pay £12 a month for 12 months instead of a one off fee all up front ?
Is there a minumum amount of time I must wait after setting up the contravt with them.
Thanks

That won't work. They send a engineer out to make sure the boiler is working before they cover you on the scheme .0

we tried that but they conme out to check and service it first. We did sign up though and they charged us a one off fee of £150. They fixed the boiler, serviced it and made sure all the rads were working.
Very good since the part would have been at least £100, they also put some thermostats on some of the radsYear 2019 (1,700/£17000mortgage repayment)Overall mortgage (71,400/165568) (44

I believe with BG you can spread the cost of the one off repair fee over the course of the homecare contract. Why not ring them and ask?
