Got any facts to back that up, or are you just another arrogant biker spouting rubbish?

don't need facts ,I have got eyes and scars to prove the 3 idiotic car drivers who pulled out in front of me and had me land on their bonnet

    I didn't see you they claimed !!!!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't you be more upset if they said they had seen you, but decided to pull out anyway?

Maybe motorbikes should be outlawed if they're that bad at road handling.

Last week I was riding my motorbike home from work and had to stop at some lights. The diesel spill I was inadvertently stopped on was so slippery I could barely hold the bike up as my left boot could scarcely find purchase on the road. And the sole has some serious tread patterns.

Bikes do tend to suffer somewhat more than cars when the grip at one of the wheels is lost due to ice (avoidable by not riding in winter), mud (fact of life in rural areas) or diesel spill (entirely due to crappy fitting filler caps, leaks or crashes). This is because they have two wheels, like bicycles.

So if you do have a diesel car, fasten your filler cap up good and tight, and see to any leaks pronto. You'll save pennies, and the odd biker has a better chance of getting to work without mishap. It'd be much appreciated. And one more chap on a bike is one less car in the queue in front of you.

  • lol, !!!!!! you plum.

I'm not claiming there are more tools on bikes than there are in cars, am I?!

Why would I need to provide facts when I'm not claiming anything is fact? I'm just asking someone who claims something is fact, without have anything to back it up, to provide facts.

I've seen many more idiot bikers than I have car drivers, that doesn't make it a fact that there are more idiot bikers than there are car drivers.

Acht it wasnt about proof, just wanted to bring in an arrogant driver comment to balance the thread.

I can go days without seeing an idiot on a motorbike, but I see a lot of idiots in cars/vans/lorries etc daily.

I think its more reference to personal experience than statistics.

And I guess you take notice of idiots rather than the ones who aren't.
What is pi? Where did it come from?

I seem to remember someone saying that it was due to the temperature of the fuel, the fuel expands as temp rises and it then runs out of the vent hose.

It'll be be the large HGV's that are the cause here as there's no filler neck, just a big old tank strapped to the side of the cab with the fuel cap level with the tank.

The cap forms a seal though, if anything it will be the overflow pipe which flows out into the open when the fuel sloshes about inside.

I take notice of everyone and everything around me. It's safer that way.
Yes, once ones spotted they'll be watched more closely, they've earned it.

just as a point of information when I take my lorry in for its MOT test every year the examiner pays special attention to the fuel cap -takes it off, checks the seals are ok. worn seals = failed test . Too many failed tests = VOSA coming around for a chat.
