Amazing, so they pay for the damage to your vehicle and you send them a letter from your insurance company showing the extra it is going to put on your insurance, and they pay that as well.

Yep, but I don’t think there is anything amazing about it. It’s a cost solely incurred as a result of the accident so recoverable from the at fault party.
In my case the damage to my car was so slight I didn’t bother claiming for it but the woman who reversed into me reported it to her insurance company so it was on the CUE database. The only thing I claimed was the non fault loading0
