I stand corrected.0 -
I was toying with switching to BG anyway -I'd already compared tariffs and EDF and BG were very close-but I was a bit miffed at the lower earning rate of nectar points with BG. This more than makes up for it -so it's off to BG for me.
It's also a lot easier to get Nectar to honour missing points than most of the cashback companies.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
Am trying to do this today, but there is a problem with the Nectar site.0

i have just swiched now to bg and they gave me 10,000 points but its 4,000 a few wekks after you have switched then 1,500 every three months for the next year but i was going to swap to bg gas anyway so bonus for me0

Interesting.
Was getting a bit p'd off with EDF and their "improvement to their service" of getting rid of Nectar.
First they offer me a "special discounted rate" which doesn't apply because I'm on Eco 20:20, and even if I switched to it, would end up paying more.
Next they switch me to online billing, yet don't offer me the discounts of an online tariff (which to be honest, their two current ones work out more expensive for me anyway, but it's the principle).
Was having a look around today and BG are not that far away from what I am paying now and £100 / £200 of Nectar points could sweeten the deal.0 -

hmmm...strange. hopefully it will get fixed sooner rather than later.
if you click on the link below and hover above the BG logo, the 20,000 points are still on offer. hopefully, the offer won't get pulled before the end of feb for those who want to take it up.

There was a BG advert in the Metro yesterday saying they were offering free loft or cavity wall insulation to all dual fuel customers too...

When Sainsbury's energy first started up (EDF basically) we signed up in store witht he promise of lots of points, they never materialised despite lots of letters, phone calls etc to both EDF and Nectar who both blamed each other and just ping ponged us back and forth.0

i think when you sign-up instore there's probably more of a chance for the cashback not to materialise....
this is online and is, usually, more reliable. occassionally, i don't get nectar points when i buy items from amazon, but a quick email to nectar sorts the problem out; sometimes with added 'bonus points' as an apology.

I just tried using the link in the first post and it worked. However, having done my homework, it does not pay to move. Although, technically I gain £100 in Nectar points, it will cost me £30 to cancel my e-on contract and I will be paying about £50 per annum more for their Standard tariff. Even, if I switch to an on-line tariff after 2 months, it will still cost me more.
BTW, points are not awarded on Websaver, OnlineSaver or Pay as you go tariff or add-ons. Therefore, only the standard tariff qualifies for this offer.0
