Deleting hotmail e mails on i phone

If I delete an e mail from my hotmail account whilst on my i phone, it still shows when I view the hotmail on my PC.

I assume this is down to a setting on my phone - can anyone advise how to resolve?

Thanks in anticipation.

Depnends on the protocol in use on the phone, if it's set up as POP3 (and it more than likely is) then that's just how it works and you're stuck with it.

If the iPhone email client supports Exchange ActiveSync email, then I would set your account up like that, as it will delete emails from the server, and also allow you to view your folders.

On the 'add account' page, I have an option for microsoft exchange.

    so I have put in

    e mail : myaddress@hotmail.co.uk
    domain : blank
    username: myaddress@hotmail.co.uk
    password: my password
    description : hotmail
    server : m.hotmail.co.uk

I have had a response 'unable to verify account information'

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks

No idea, don't have an iPhone :rotfl:
