They've gone into receivership. I've been waiting for an eternity for my canvas and have now asked Groupon for a refund. Uk Canvas were supposed to be refunding my postage but I think I can kiss goodbye to that. Its put me off Groupon offers.
  • Just would like to add my 2 cents worth.

I have used groupon a couple of times before and had no problems, however on October 17th I purchased a code to buy a Goose Down and Feather Pillow from Clouds.

Clouds did not deliver the item and after their maximum time for delivery period elapsed, they sent an email promising dispatch the next week (this did not happen!)

On Nov 18th (after 30 days - Sales of Goods Act, Distance Selling) I emailed both Clouds & GROUPON with a request to cancel & a refund of my money. I resent this email on the Nov 26th. I have heard from neither of them and my money has still not been refunded. I have now emailed informing them that I will be pursuing the matter with my credit card company & flagging my experience up with anybody that will listen.

I am still hoping for a satisfactory conclusion, but thought an updated 'heads-up' would be in order to people thinking of using either company. I will update with my progress ....
  • I too have been having problems with a Groupon deal - ordered a photo canvas through UK Canvas (Balmer Media) early Sep. Have called emailed UK Canvas many times for the item (mostly they don't answer the phone) but last said canvas would be dispatched on 18 Nov.

Have also complained to Groupon but they don't seem to be interested. Looked at UK Canvas (Balmer Media) website today and they have gone into administration - surprise, surprise.
Anteater99 and others - complain to BBC Watchdog - I have.
  • I have THREE vouchers now with groupon that i havent been able to claim -one company doesnt reply to calls for a booknig and two have gone bankrupt - and customer servies are not replying via the email at all. Has anyone got a phone number i can actually try to contact them as i am getting very tired of being ignored
  • Like others I tto am having problems with Groupon. I bought their Vistaprint offer in December 2011 and attempted to use the code several times until by 31 December 2011 it ran out. Despite reporting this to them from 1 January 2012 onwards I keep being fobbed off with credits and the excuse that I'm more than 7 days out of time for a refund. I would like to know if anyone has managed to get a refund from them or should I report them to Trading Standards.
  • Hi, I am also having problems with Groupon. Various issues in line with what the other users have set out.
I have given Groupon 14 days to resolve my complaints after which time if I am not happy I will be considering taking legal action. I wondered whether anyone else would be interested in making joint claims if this is a route I decide to take?

  • I purchase a groupon couponn for an MP3 playe early November (ideal Xmas present), the item was supposed to be delivered within 4 weeks, plenty of time for Xmas.

Having not recieved it the week before Xmas I contacted groupon, with the aim of getting the item or a refund. The customer service phone number is not answered, i made 4 attempts to speak to someone each time holding on for 30 mins. After numberous emails I have still not received either the goods, responses to my emails or a refund 4 months after purchasing the coupon.

I am completely stuck what to do, £45 doesnt seem enough to pursue a claim (which is probably what they rely on), but at the same time I dont want them to get away with them ripping me off.

As i work in London I went to there offices, its a serviced office building only used as a registration address and not the home of their customer services. So no joy their.

    Anyone any ideas?

I would suggest to anyone looking to make any purchases via group on to steer well clear, its a complete rip off.
  • Maybe Groupon will be more responsive to complaints now that the OFT is on their back:

An investigation by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) found "widespread" examples of breaches of consumer protection rules.

The OFT has specific concerns over "pricing, advertising, refunds, unfair terms, and the diligence of its interactions with merchants".

I found a quick(ish) way of getting a reply was to complain on twitter and include @grouponuk - they messaged me and asked for the reference number and they said they'd chase it up.
Took two days for a response but I got 1 of the 2 refunds so far.

31/03 - I finally got the second refund after the other company (Diet To Your Door) failed to respond.
