I downloaded money plus from a link on here last month. Although unsupported it still works and was available for free download.
  • I've been trying to use yodlee, which is online and most of our UK accounts seem to work with it (egg always has problems in the interface). Yodlee has problems though, the problems I've found are duplicate transactions being created and you can't delete them, you can't delete old/disused accounts, or old transactions. The website is also really slow. So I've deleted my account.

Am trying moneydashboard now, also online (and powered through yodlee but a bit more streamlined). It does seem a bit too basic though for what I want.

Also have tried quicken 2010 (I used to use quicken years ago) but this just seems to support american banks now, and won't let me load a qif file (Lloyds TSB export) for a current account (checking account) so is rather useless really.

Considering trying gnucash or an older (less american) version of quicken...

There doesn't seem to be a good UK online or offline product : ( If you know of one please let me know.
Started paying off debt in Sept 07, inspired by this website :-) Almost 7.7k debt, now 2.9k (end of June 08):T
    Main things we've been doing:
interest free cards, cashback cards, store's one brand groceries, just getting what we need
*can't wait until I'm debtfree! Should be by November!*

I tried downloading the free version of MS Money, but it was all American (talking about checking accounts, etc) and without a tutorial or book I didn't really know where to begin. I'm considering buying the UK version, even though it's not supported, but it still seems to be retailing at £35-£40, which is pretty pricey for software that can't be updated.

I think the problem with it being £35-£40 is that its getting harder to find nowadays. The last version was 2005. Most shops dont offer it and you can only find second hand or ones that havent sold.

    MoneyDance

Like Quicken but still supported and cross-platform ( Win, Mac, Linux).
  • I'd recommend YNAB, the latest version is a very polished budgeting and account tracking program (works on macs too). Lets you plan where the money is going to go/being saved up for, as well as tracking all your accounts.

I can also recommend GnuCash. As mentioned, it's a double-entry accounting package, which makes it impossible to lose track of money, and it's flexible enough to be set up with exactly the amount of detail that you need (whatever that is).
  • I'm a strong devotee of Quicken. Have 2004 'Final Edition'.

Wouldn't want to be without it. By December 2011, I will have 40 years of transactions on it!

Extremely similar to MSMoney but since I got to Quicken first, have never seen the need to migrate.
